Welcome to MLA's Relevant Issues Section Web siteEstablished in 1972, the Relevant Issues Section of the Medical Library Association (MLA) promotes the educational, scientific and professional growth of MLA's membership. The Section's primary concern is with social issues that have an impact on how biomedical librarians perform their roles. We participate in the administration and management of the association through the election of Section officers and representation on Section Council. The Section presents programs and events at the association's Annual Meeting. The Relevant Issues Section sponsors the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Health Sciences Librarians Special Interest Group. Members, please find a copy of the
proposed Relevant Bylaws (PDF) revisions. Older language is struck
out, with the replacement immediately following. We have heard from the
MLA Bylaws committee that the bylaws are ready for voting. So, we will
be voting on these changes at the Section Business meeting Monday, May
21, 2012, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm, at the Washington State Convention Center,
Room 301. A twothirds vote of a quorum will be required to ratify the
changes, so please make every effort to attend the meeting.
