Established in 1972, the Relevant Issues Section of the Medical Library Association (MLA) promotes the educational, scientific and professional growth of MLA's membership. The Section's primary concern is with social issues that have an impact on how biomedical librarians perform their roles. We participate in the administration and management of the association through the election of Section officers and representation on Section Council. The Section presents programs and events at the association's Annual Meeting.
The Relevant Issues Section has a new Relevant Issues Blog for announcements about events and information sharing. The Relevant Issues Section sponsors the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Health Sciences Librarians Special Interest Group.
The 2007/2008 President, Mark E. Funk, AHIP, 2007/08 MLA president, has launched his presidential pages in a blog format. Read Mark's blog, "Only Connect," to learn about his presidential priorities, past activities and accomplishments.
