Debate over tobacco funding at universities continues

The NY Times reports that a growing number of academic institutions are continuing to question whether or not to allow tobacco funding to underwrite research and other programs at universities. The February 4, 2008 article highlights recent cases where universities have both prohibited tobacco funding, and administrators at other institutions have successfully fended off the ban, citing concerns this type of ban infringes upon academic freedom.

Blog reading habits survey

The results will be presented at at the Las Vegas joint chapter meeting of the Northern California and Nevada Medical Group (NCNMLG) and the Medical Library Group of Southern California and Arizona (MLGSCA), and will be reported on his blog at:

Inconvenient Truth -SiCKO

Last year it was all about the environment. This year the most talked about documentary is bound to be Michael Moore’s health industry documentary ‘SiCKO’. The film debuted over the weekend at the Cannes Film Festival and will open in U.S. theaters on June 29.
